Help with USB Loader GX‎

After reading tons of tutorials and links i think ive confused myself here.

What im trying to do is backup my games to a USB. I have a 16GB USB formatted in NTFS, 8GB SD formatted in FAT32, a Wii system with version 4.3. I have successfully installed the Homebrew channel. I then made a backup of the NAND file(s) and pasted them onto my PC hard drive.

I use NUS Loader to generate the following WAD files:

IOS15-64-v257
IOS15-64-v523
IOS36-64-v3351
IOS38-64-v3867

I then copy USB Loader GX to the SD card (and removing the previous NAND etc files that were created by the homebrew channel) and the above WAD files to the root.

When i loaded the homebrew page, i notice the USB loader GX is available and it loads..... but 5 seconds later i notice an error "Failed to load cIOS 222 (and other versions)" its a little too fast for me to capture the entire message but i suspect i need to load or install cIOS 222 and above?? ...... "Waiting for HDD" with a countdown..... Eventually i get "USB Device not found. Switching to channel list mode". I have two USB ports on the Wii (ill term them as top and bottom) and have tried both slots.

My question is how and where do i find these cIOS files and how do i load/install them? I appreciate if anyone could give me some step by step guides as i think im making this harder than it really is. OR do i not need them and is it the USB that is simply not recognised due to some incorrect setting? Or is it not recognised due to these cIOS files?

I think someone wrote that only certain USB devices work but i think that was for previous models so again not 100% sure.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Update required for a game

I modified our Wii system yesterday following the tutorial found here http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html I insert a new (ish) game today and i notice it states an update is required.

It gives a warning that it would overrite any modifications etc, so i tried going through USB loader GX and the game plays as normal - should i still update the Wii Console or should i continue playing the game through USB loader GX? In short im trying to figure out which is the correct procedure to follow.

Thanks

Burned games once worked no longer works

Hello,

Games I have burned and used previously no longer works. All games with original DVD works fine, but many of the burned that once worked do not work any longer. This is not due to DVD-scratching etc because it has happened to a lot of the games, not just one or two. More specifically, the Wii freeze after you see the "This is how you hold your wiimote screen", so the disc loads and then just dies and you get the "UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" sound and you can not access the wii menu or turn the wii off or anything, you have to pull the electricity to get it working again.

Grateful for any help.

Any advice? Should I change the speed of burning, because it is 8.0x
Should I use a different program to burn it?

Problem playing DVD backups. Drive TOO NEW?

I've followed the directions to burn DVD backups, and I'm using MEMOREX DVD-R. Moved the "Mario Super Sluggers" .ISO and used IMGBurn to copy it. Finalized the burn and proceeded to use NeoGamma to play the disc. What in the world the program says Error, and then stating "DRIVE TOO NEW FOR DVD-R/DVD+R".

Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong, or is there anything I should know? Please help, I'm going crazy.

I burned the disc (a Memorex DVD+RDL(Yes i Know)), with Image Burn, at 2,4x speed, but when i put it in my wii it says DVD+R/bad burn/DL problem error 03023a00, and then it says that my drive model is 20081219, and that its to new to read DVD-Rs, which sucks, but i burned it on a DVD+RDL, so it should work. Any ideas?

EDIT: My Serial number comes back with this answer for chipset:

  • There is a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-D4 on a smaller drive board.
  • And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2R-D2A.
  • Lastly, a 25% chance the chipset is Combined GC2-D3 with no drive chip.

Is this bad or normal? will i need to do a modchip or hardmod? my wii is currently softmodded following Guides Bot instructions on this website.

Make Copy of Old Nintendo 64 Games for Wii

HI everyone,

This is my first day here, so if I do something wrong, please post. Anyways, I have a dying N64 with some favorite classic games on it, and after my console dies, I wouldn't be able to play. Is there some kind of conversion software I could use on my computer, in order to play these classics on my Wii? I used some software config. to download the games onto my laptop. The problem is, they are in .z64 file format (I dunno why, I know its a ROM format???). Also, the controls would need to be changed so that it would be Wii player friendly. Any help is helpful:)

I used the soft modding guide to install homebrew, the modpack and I installed and set up priiloader. I assumed that since I was already running system 4.3 I could skip the system update. Then I reformatted my SD card and added the apps pack. All apps are at root in proper directories with DOL files in place. When I try to run one of the loaders from the system screen. I get the loading page after selecting start, but then it returns to the system screen. Do I need to do a system update to complete the softmod? What else am I missing? Thanks.

How to install games on modded wii? Please help..

So I just bought a new wii, black version, firmware 4.3u. I also did the soft mod, but I could not figure out a way to get games into it.
I downloaded games from torrent. However all the games are more than 4gb, which means that I cannot copy them into FAT32 SD card or external hard drive.
- SD card: I transferred the compressed file to the card then unzip/unrar/extract it, got an error message saying something like it could not be done.
So SD card's out.
- External hard drive: I have a NTFS format system hard drive, if I want to use it with Wii, I have to either buy a new one or reformatted the drive. However I have too many data there so reformatting is not an option.
- Burn disk: I bought DVD-R, DVD+RW, nothing works, always get a message: "Unable to read disk."
SO my question is, is there any Homebrew app or anything that helps reading burn disk? For external hard drive, if I buy a new one with FAT32, do I need app to read iso file? I know you guys talk about USB loader or something but when I open the app on wii, I always get frozen there.
Also my controllers are all MotionPlus so they don't work for Homebrew app right? It drives me crazy, I have been trying to mod my wii and install games for three days but failed.. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you guys in advance!

Ok i ran into this issue out of nowhere. I have a folder on my desktop with my wii games in wbfs format.
i open Wii Backup Manager 0.4.5 and scan the folder and it only finds 5 games when there is way more then that.
I also noticed when i add the folder and it starts to scan almost all the games are in red text with only the 5 games being green.
now when scan is done i see only 5 games.

i run Wii Game Manager 1.5.0.2 to add the folder and nothing happens at all.

could someone help me and try to fix this issue please . and thanks

Hello everyone!
I was thinking of buying some kirby games for the wii as I want something different anyway I was looking at the kirby wiiki (get it? ;)) for a list and I found Kirby's Dream Collection which comes with a collection of the classics
I looked on ebay and could only find ntsc-u versions and when I looked on the wiki, it says
Release September 16, 2012
July 19, 2012
(Didn't think the html colors would work ANYWAY) It has no europe :( so I'm wondering, Can I get a NTSC/USA copy of the game, then use wiiflow to dump it and play on my Pal vWii (Wii U's wiimode)? Apparently wiiflow can play any region but will this work on my Wii U's vWii?
Thanks

Ripping DVD backups

Do the latest versions USB Loader GX and/or Cleanrip support the ripping of backup Wii game discs?

I've been Googling around and found nothing that answers these questions.

Before the Wii became hard drive-only, I had legit game backup-copied DVDs. Now that they're here, I don't know if I am still able to play my backups. My concern is if I am still to at least rip the data from my backup discs to the external hard drive. Can it still be done?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Can anybody give me a step by step guide to install an app (dol file) or whatever on homebrew channel so I can put gamecube games on a disc and play them on the app. Thank you. I'm using system menu 4.3E if that helps. Links, too, would be very nice. Pretty much making backups. A backup launcher or something similar to what I have said. I am using DVD-R and am wondering how to use this with neogamma or something please help me play gamecube games on backup discs on my wii. Anyone?
